YOUKU

In our cognisphere, we index our virtual lives through metadata. Youku and Youku V2 attempt to discuss the semantics of a temporal metadata-stream. Youku is a series of digital collages, and ‘image macros’, appropriating elements from familiar interface designs, web content, and peculiar selections. The temporal metadata, selected from YouTube's computationally translated captions and screen captures, as well as peculiarities in familiar interface design, merge to create the pages of this ebook.
